Dog’s Nose

It’s getting chilly out, and here’s a warm punch that is easy to make and will warm you up. The recipe is from a fascinating book I recently found called Drinking with Dickens.

Dogs Nose

16 oz Guinness
2 oz of gin (I used Hayman’s Old Tom Gin for historical accuracy, but probably any gin you have handy will do just as well).
1 tablespoon of brown sugar

Warm ingredients in a saucepan (medium heat) until hot but not boiling. Pour into two large coffee mugs and sprinkle with nutmeg and/or cinnamon.
